Terms of Use

Beeside helps families organize everyday life together. Depending on the device, this includes:

• Today, an overview of your day
• Groceries with a shared list, stores with your route through the aisles, and shopping mode, plus To buy for things to get later
• To-dos with reminders and lists
• Meals and recipes, with import from recipe websites and photos, plus the weekly plan
• Calendar with family events, repeating events, your device’s calendars, and a calendar subscription via link
• Occasions with packing lists and templates, birthdays, and gift ideas
• Your family’s subscriptions and contracts, with amounts and cancellation deadlines
• Chores for kids with stars, rewards, and allowance, also on a paired kid’s device or family tablet
• Vault for passwords, Wi-Fi, codes, and notes, encrypted end to end
• Quick add and AI import from text or photos
• Widgets, offline use with sync later, history, trash, and export

Beeside is available in German and English. We keep developing Beeside and may change, add, or remove features, as long as this is reasonable for you and the core of the service remains.

Beeside requires an account with an email address; you sign in with a code sent by email. When you first start, you can use Beeside anonymously until you secure your account.

Whoever creates a family can invite others via a link, QR code, or code. Family members share the family’s content; entries marked as “private” are visible only to their owner.

Only adults aged 18 or older may create an account. Children do not have their own account. Parents create profiles for their children and can pair a kid’s device that shows only chores, stars, and rewards. Parents are responsible for their children’s use.

If you add children, you confirm that you have parental responsibility for them or act with the consent of those who do. If you enter information about other people, such as relatives’ birthdays, you may do so only to the extent you are entitled to.

Keep sign-in codes, invitation and pairing codes, and your calendar subscription link confidential. If you suspect misuse, please contact hello@getbeeside.com.

Beeside is a paid service. There is one subscription tier per family, billed yearly or monthly. Everyone your family invites is included, on iPhone and Android.

• Prices: Yearly subscription CHF 59.00 per year with a 14-day free trial; monthly subscription CHF 6.90 per month without a free trial. These are the prices in Switzerland; in other countries, the prices shown there by the App Store or Google Play apply. The price shown before you buy is the one that counts.
• Purchase: You can subscribe only in the apps, through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Apple or Google processes the payment, and their terms also apply. You cannot subscribe on the web.
• Free trial: The yearly subscription starts with 14 days free if the store offers the trial at the time of purchase. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing; otherwise, it converts into the paid yearly subscription. Beeside reminds you by notification at least 48 hours before the trial ends, if notifications are allowed.
• Renewal: The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it in your Apple or Google subscription settings at least 24 hours before it expires.
• Cancellation: You cancel in your Apple or Google Play subscription settings. The subscription then remains active until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.
• Refunds: You take out the subscription through Apple or Google. Payment, cancellation, any statutory right of withdrawal, and refunds are governed by their terms and handled by them. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
• Without a subscription: Without an active subscription or free trial, Beeside stays locked for the whole family. Your data is kept; if no one in a family without a subscription has signed in for 12 months, we delete it after notice by email (details in the privacy policy). You can always export your own data and delete your account, even without a subscription.

Price changes are made through the respective store and follow its rules.

Beeside is intended for private use within your family. In particular, you may not:

• use Beeside for unlawful purposes or store content that infringes the rights of others
• circumvent security measures, access other families’ data, or disrupt operations
• query Beeside automatically or overload it
• circumvent the limits on AI features
• copy, modify, reverse engineer, or resell Beeside, except where the law expressly permits it

What you enter in Beeside remains yours. We receive only the rights we need to operate Beeside: to store your content, sync it, show it to your family members, and process it for the features you use, such as AI import.

You must have the right to add your content, for example photos. Recipes imported from websites are for private use within your family; the rights of their publishers remain reserved.

Your devices encrypt the Vault end to end. Because we cannot read it, we cannot replace lost keys or restore encrypted entries.

We recommend backing up important data regularly using the export.

Quick add and AI import use artificial intelligence to turn text or photos into entries and to sort items. The results are suggestions. They may be incomplete or wrong, and we make no guarantee that they are accurate. Check the results before relying on them, especially dates, amounts, deadlines, and ingredients.

Use of the AI features is limited per family. Our privacy policy explains what data is sent.

We strive to operate Beeside reliably but cannot promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance and outages at service providers or on the internet may temporarily limit Beeside. Much of Beeside works without a connection; changes sync once you are back online. Some features may require a current version of the app, the operating system, or the browser.

We are liable without limitation for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and under mandatory liability rules such as product liability.

In cases of slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an essential obligation, meaning an obligation whose fulfillment makes the use of Beeside possible in the first place and on which you may rely, and then only for typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law, in particular for indirect and consequential damage, lost profits, and loss of data. This also applies to our auxiliaries and the service providers we use.

To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for results of the AI features, for content that you enter or import, or for services of third parties such as Apple, Google, or calendar apps that fetch a calendar subscription.

You can delete your account at any time in the app or on the web. If you are the last person in your family with an account, you can also delete the entire family. An active subscription must be canceled separately in your Apple or Google subscription settings.

We may suspend or delete an account that seriously or repeatedly violates these terms, for example in cases of misuse or attacks on security. Where possible and reasonable, we will notify you first and give you the opportunity to export your data.

If we discontinue Beeside, we will announce it in good time so that you can export your data.

We may update these terms, for example when Beeside, the stores’ terms, or the law change. We will announce significant changes in advance in an appropriate way. If you continue to use Beeside afterward, you accept the updated terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account.

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict of laws rules. If you are a consumer residing outside Switzerland, you do not lose the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence; where the law so provides, that law applies.

The place of jurisdiction is the provider’s place of business in Eich, Canton of Lucerne. For consumers, only the statutory places of jurisdiction apply; in particular, consumers can sue and be sued in their country of residence.

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
